Ebru — The Ancient Turkish Marbling Art

Ebru, the centuries-old Turkish art form, is a unique technique in which patterns are created on the surface of water using special paint and then transferred onto paper.

This art plays a central role in INCLUSIO's cultural heritage and integration objectives. Our Ebru workshops offer more than instruction in an art technique; they also serve as a therapeutic experience for participants.

The calming flow of the water and the unexpected harmony of the colours bring people from different cultural backgrounds together, creating a peaceful foundation for shared creation and mutual understanding.

By spreading this art, we celebrate cultural diversity and build an aesthetic connection between communities.

Why Ebru

  • 🌊Therapeutic effect — calming water patterns for mindfulness and rest
  • 🎨Cultural heritage — a centuries-old Turkish tradition, brought to life
  • 🤝Connection — brings participants of all backgrounds together
  • Accessible to everyone — no artistic experience required

Target group

Women

The calming flow of the water and the unexpected harmony of the colours — Ebru is a language everyone understands.

Painting Courses & Art Workshops

For Stichting INCLUSIO, art is a universal language. We organise a wide range of workshops, from ceramic painting and traditional arts to modern digital art forms.

These creative activities serve as a powerful means of expression and a platform for social integration, particularly for women and vulnerable groups. Participants set cultural differences aside to create joint projects, get the chance to express their emotions and learn new skills.

Through art, we build confidence, strengthen community bonds and create a more inclusive world for everyone.

Workshop types

  • 🏺Ceramic painting — craftsmanship and mindfulness
  • 🖼️Traditional art forms — Ebru, kaleçiği, mosaic
  • 💻Digital art — graphic design, digital illustration
  • 🎭Theatre & expression — finding your voice and confidence
  • 🖌️Free painting — intuitive, no rules
  • ✂️Mixed media — collage, installations, upcycling

💜 Women & vulnerable groups

Our workshops are low-threshold and safe — a place where everyone can be themselves and grow.

🧒 AZC shelters — for children in reception centres

Art studios in asylum seeker shelters give children room for expression and connection, even without a shared language.

At the Table — Connection through Food and Culture

Food connects. At Stichting Inclusio we regularly organise shared meals where participants from dozens of different countries and cultures share their food, stories and traditions.

These evening programmes are much more than a meal. They are meeting places where newcomers get to know the Netherlands, where the Dutch welcome the world to their table, and where friendships begin that give integration real meaning.

From Turkish börek to Dutch pea soup — our tables are a mirror of the diversity we celebrate.

What happens

  • 🍽️Shared meals — everyone brings something from their own culture
  • 🌍Cultural evenings — music, dance and stories from all corners
  • 💬Information sessions — finding your way in the Netherlands: work, education, rights
  • 🤝Networking moments — for newcomers, volunteers and local residents alike
  • 🎶Music & dance — after the meal, because celebration is part of it

Everyone is welcome at our table. Food is the shortest path to understanding.

GREEN AI — Green Intelligence through Art and Technology

The GREEN AI project combines Artificial Intelligence (AI) with music and theatre to raise young people's awareness of environmental issues. Stichting Inclusio is the coordinator of this Erasmus+ project.

Rather than treating climate change as an abstract theoretical subject, students become "active scientists": they use AI tools and digital applications to find real solutions to environmental problems.

Goals

  • 🎵Music as technology — motor-driven rhythm instruments and AI-synchronised tools
  • 🌿Climate awareness — environmental education from theory to practice
  • 🧠Neuro-pedagogy — how AI and digital tools affect cognitive development
  • 👨‍🏫Teacher development — professional certification for educators
